Northampton Folk Dance Club is a club that celebrated over 60 years of Folk Dancing in Northampton. We welcome new members and visitors to the area to join us for an evening of sociable dancing at our regular club nights. There is no need to come with a partner – singles are welcomed and encouraged to join in with our members.
Club nights are held in Bouverie House, Bouverie Road, Hardingstone, Northampton NN4 6EL on Thursday evenings, normally between 7.45pm and 9.45pm, from September to June. The cost is £2.00 for members or £2.50 for visitors, which includes tea/coffee and a biscuit during the interval; annual membership is £4.00. There is no charge to visitors/new members on their first evening.
All dances are fully explained, walked through beforehand and called throughout, so are suitable for all abilities; there is no need to be an experienced dancer.
A member of the Club, with permission from Mary Harris, has compiled a booklet of dances by the Late John Harris. This booklet is available to download and callers may use the dances freely but please give credit to John when using his dances.
